Why is my QR Code no longer working?

Last updated on Apr 22, 2025

If your QR code has stopped working, here are the most likely reasons — and what you can do to fix it.

1. Your plan or 7-day trial ended

When your paid trial ends or a renewal payment can’t be collected your dynamic codes stop working until the plan is reactivated.

Fix: Renew your plan or update your card in Billing.

2. The QR code is paused

Paused QR codes are temporarily turned off and scans show a service page. This can happen if you paused the QR code in your GetQR dashboard.

Fix: Open "My QR codes" page in your GetQR cabinet and Unpause your QR code.

3. The QR code was deleted

Deleted codes no longer work. Scanners will see an error or service page. This can happen if you deleted the specific QR code in your GetQR dashboard.

Fix: Create a new code and update any printed materials.

This could happen either if you entered the wrong link when creating your QR code, or the destination page was removed. People who scan your QR code may see 404 Not Found or 410 Gone after scanning. The QR code itself is fine; the link isn’t.

Fix: Open the destination URL in your browser. If it doesn’t load, update the QR code’s destination to a working page.

How to Reactivate Your QR Codes

To get your QR codes working again:

  1. Log in to your GetQR dashboard
  2. Go to the “Plans and Payments” section
  3. Choose the subscription that best fits your needs

Your QR codes will be reactivated instantly after upgrading — no need to reprint or change the code.
